Training Objectives:
At the conclusion of the training participants will:

1) Know what the steps are to get repairs completed;
2) Have resources to address issues or conflicts regarding landlord/tenant issues;
3) Know “how to be a good neighbor” and how to support a healthy (building) community

Description: This training will explore Tenants Rights under the Residential Landlord and Tenant Ordinance (RLTO). Tools will be provided that generate letters and provide assistance to tenants with possible legal issues. Additionally, the information will be distributed on what to inform your landlord of (as a new tenant). This training is for any person who provides direct services (Case Management) to people who have experience homelessness that is in the process of being housed.

Presenters:
Amy De La Fuente, MSW. She runs the Healthy Homes program at Metropolitan Tenants Organization (MTO).
Melanie Felt is the Rapid Re-housing (RRH) Housing Locator at All Chicago. She helps to organize and facilitate workshops that engage landlords (and tenants respectively).
