Training Objectives:

At the conclusion of the training participants will:

1) Gain an understanding of the dynamics of IPV within LGBTQ relationships.
2) Be able to identify barriers for LGBTQ survivors in accessing services.
3) Develop skills for assessing IPV within LGBTQ relationships.
4) Identify how to implement LGBTQ affirming services.

Description: This training will explore intimate partner violence within LGBTQ relationships including prevalence, barriers to accessing services, and strategies to implement LGBTQ affirming survivor services. This training is for any person who provides direct services to survivors of domestic and intimate partner violence.

Presenter: Jeff Strozier, PhD, LCPC is the Director of the Anti-Violence Project at Center on Halsted. Dr. Strozier has 10 years of experience as a counselor and specializes in working with LGBTQ survivors of violence. He holds an MA in Clinical Professional Psychology from Roosevelt University and a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of New Orleans.
