Addiction is a new NOVA documentary that takes an unflinching look at the deadliest drug epidemic in U.S. history. At this free screening, discover how opioid addiction affects the brain and how treatments are saving lives. Hear firsthand from individuals struggling with addiction and follow the cutting-edge work of doctors and scientists as they investigate why addiction is not a moral failing, but a chronic, treatable medical condition. Easy access to drugs like heroin, fentanyl, and even prescription medications like OxyContin has fueled an epidemic of addiction.

Following the film, longtime Chicago media personality Robin Robinson will moderate an in-depth panel discussion and audience Q&A about the opioid epidemic and its connection to homelessness in Chicago. The panel will feature:

  • Sarah Holt, Addiction Producer, Director, and Writer
  • Darwin Fisher, Program Coordinator, Insite/CTCT/PSS, PHS Community Services Society (Vancouver, BC), featured in Addiction
  • Ed Stellon, Executive Director, Heartland Alliance Health
  • Anthony S., Recovery Coach, Heartland Alliance Health, who will share his experience with addiction and recovery
  • Anthony W., who will share his experience with homelessness and long-term recovery from addiction

This event is free, but seating is limited. Be sure to reserve your seats today!
