Supporting Change

This line of work, made up mainly of the CoC Board of Directors, supports the infrastructure to drive implementation as strategically and as quickly as possible, paves the way for the next phases of the work, and maximizes the capacity of the people power within Chicago's Homeless Response System. Activities include working with the Lived Experience Commission to maximize their impact, refining the CoC governance and committee structure, capacity building/ training, and bridging to other systems.

Lived Experience Commission

The Lived Experience Commission (LEC) is a coalition of individuals who are receiving or have received services from Chicago’s homeless system, people who were formerly homeless, or people at risk of becoming homeless. This commission was formed to ensure an organized voice for those with lived experience of homelessness.
