Description: Have you been trained in motivational interviewing (MI)? Are you looking for ways to better integrate MI into your regular supervision sessions? Would you like to improve your skills in supporting staff to use MI? THEN, this 3-part training is for you! Our facilitator, Laura Bass, will guide supervisors in supporting the implementation of Motivational Interviewing (MI). Topics to be covered include integrating OARS into every work day, reflective supervision, teaching through modeling, using MI strategies in supervisory roles, teaching Microskills, Motivational Interviewing 202, responding to resistance, and responding to change talk. As a prerequisite, participants must have basic knowledge and previous training in MI. Participants are expected to attend ALL 3 sessions. Each session will include discussion of the Toolkit provided by the facilitator, interactive training activities that can be replicated with staff, and time for debrief, or opportunities to share successes and challenges.

Target Audience: This training is for current supervisors or staff who would like to advance to a supervisory position, and attendees should have intermediate knowledge of Motivational Interviewing.
